Flag Football Curriculum

Flag football is the foundation of Go Core Athletics. Our flagship program develops complete players through proper technique, football IQ, and competitive reps, in a fun, supportive environment that scales from first-time youth athletes to competitive adult 7-on-7. Athletic training is integrated into every session.

  • Throwing to stationary and moving targets
  • Snap-to-throw rhythm with center

Lunch & Team Talk
  • Nutrition basics, fuel before and after sport
  • Goal-setting: each athlete sets one skill goal

Offensive Plays & Huddle
  • 3-play playbook: sweep, short pass, and deep ball
  • Huddle communication, cadence, and play-call practice

7-on-7 Scrimmage (Offense Focus)
  • Full game situations using learned plays
  • Coach-directed play calling and rotating QB reps

Youth 3-Day Camp

Full daily programming builds on clinic fundamentals with competitive scrimmages, athletic training, and a themed character focus each day.

Day 1
Foundations & Team Building
  • Check-In & Warm-Up, Team assignments, jerseys, and a dynamic warm-up led by Ashlee Austin-Bean
  • Fundamentals Stations, Flag pulling, catching/routes, QB mechanics, and athletic agility stations
  • Team Playbook, 5-play youth playbook with a half-speed walk-through
  • Scrimmage, Team vs. Team, Coaches officiate and guide play in real time
  • Character & Cool-Down, Teamwork trust exercises, then guided stretching and foam rolling
Day 2
Offense & Defense Deep Dive
  • Offensive Skills Clinic, Advanced route combinations: option and crossing routes; red-zone and goal-line plays
  • Defensive Skills Clinic, Zone vs. man coverage intro; flag-pulling timing and pursuit angles
  • Full Scrimmage, Game-day simulation with officiating, scorekeeping, and halftime adjustments
  • Athletic Training, Strength, Bodyweight circuit: squats, lunges, push-ups, planks
  • Character: Resilience, How do we respond to mistakes and losing?
Day 3
Competition & Celebration
  • Game-Day Warm-Up, Full team warm-up and final playbook review
  • Camp Tournament, 3-team round robin, full rules, 20-minute games
  • Athletic, Speed Finals, Timed 40-yard dash vs. Day 1 benchmark
  • Championship Game, Top two teams, full sideline experience, families invited
  • Awards Ceremony, MVP, Most Improved, Best Teammate, certificates for all

Teen 5-Day Camp

A true training-camp experience, athletes are grouped by position, coached by specialists, and compete daily, with athletic training woven throughout.

Day 1
Evaluation & Installation
  • Testing & Benchmarks, 40-yard dash, broad jump, 5-10-5 shuttle recorded by Ashlee; position skill assessment
  • Offense Installation, Full playbook: 12 plays across 3 formations, walk, jog, and live reps
  • Defense Installation, Base defense and 2 blitz packages installed
  • Leadership & Scrimmage, Self-assessment goals, then live 7-on-7 with coaches stopping to teach
  • Athletic Training, Activation, movement quality, and eccentric strength
Day 2
Offensive Mastery
  • Offensive Skill Stations, QB: 5-step drop, bootleg, rollout; WR: releases vs. press, double moves; OL: pull/reach blocks
  • Red Zone & 2-Minute, Goal-line plays and 2-minute drill with clock management
  • 7-on-7, Offense Emphasis, 3 competitive games vs. rotating opponents
  • Athletic, Upper Body & Core, Resistance-band shoulder circuit, rotational power, core
Day 3
Defensive Mastery
  • Defensive Skill Stations, CB: backpedal, press bail, zone drops; Safety: deep-half; LB/Rusher: rush lanes and coverage
  • Situational Defense, 3rd-and-long, end-of-half, and end-of-game scenarios
  • 7-on-7, Defense Emphasis, Defense calls plays, execution and communication
  • Athletic, Lower Body Power, Depth jumps, banded sprints, hip-thrust progression
Day 4
Full Competition Day
  • Round Robin Tournament, 4-team bracket, 25-min games, full officiating and scoreboard
  • Championship Semifinals, Top 2 teams from the morning bracket advance
  • Athletic, Recovery & Mobility, Active recovery: yoga flow, foam rolling, dynamic stretching
Day 5
Championship & Celebration
  • Final Benchmark Testing, Re-test 40-yard dash, broad jump, and 5-10-5 vs. Day 1
  • Championship Prep, Opponent tendencies walkthrough and a talk from Coach Alex
  • Camp Championship Game, Full game, family spectators, sideline camera for highlights
  • Awards Ceremony, All-Camp Team, Most Improved, Camp MVP, Go Core gear for all

Adult clinics balance technical coaching with performance training for returning and experienced competitors.
